Pannaiyarum Padminiyum is based on the short film directed by debutant Arun Kumar with the same title. The film features Vijay Sethupathi and Jayaprakash in the lead roles. The story is about an old man's love for his vintage car Premier Padmini. Actor Vijay Sethupathi plays the character of the driver of Premier Padmini car. The female lead in the movie is played by Iyshwarya Rajesh. Sneha and Attakathi Dinesh appear in guest roles. The film is edited by Srikar Prasad and cinematography is by Gokul Binoy.
