Transcendence movie , a man versus machine epic and also an intimate drama is directed by oscar winning cinematographer Wally Pfister and Screenplay by Jack Paglen. The 119 minutes longer movie stars Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall, Morgan Freeman and Cillian Murphy. The science fiction thriller mystery film's script is written by Jack Paglen. Let's look at the movie's story and review.

The sci-fi cautionary tale of Transcendence finds Dr. Will Caster (Johnny Depp), who appeared as a brilliant scientist in the field of artificial intelligence. Dr. Will Caster with his wife Evelyn (Rebecca Hall) and fellow researcher Max (Paul Bettany) working together to create a sentient machine, which is an startling advancements in artificial intelligence.

The team hopes to combines the collective intelligence of everything with the full range of human emotions and build a computerized “brain” that would be self-sustaining and ever-evolving, able to cure diseases and save the planet. All those experiments made Will famous and he become the prime target of anti-technology extremists. Consequently, at a conference, an anti-tech terrorist shoots Will with a radiation-tipped bullet.

Instead, the attempt of destroying Will, become the catalyst for him to succeed, as Evelyn and Max decided to plug electrodes into Will’s brain and “upload his consciousness” into a supercomputer, they have built, to save his life.

Though, Will dies, but his brain lives, and then his thirst for knowledge and brilliance want to heal the people become a problem. He can do all that by implanting chips in the sufferers heads that allows him to communicate with these “hybrid humans,” but later Will becomes unstoppable. Later some interesting twist comes in the story that unveiled in the further sequels.

Transcendence's script wrapped off an innovative and unique idea. The character of Johnny sounds a bit complex and appropriate variations appeared until the tragic end of the movie, which is liked by the audience. Also, firstly, Johnny expand himself with this role, otherwise earlier he played just quirky and comic roles, as per the reviews.

Transcendence reviews states that it is a movie of two minds that is moving between the smaller story of tragic lovers and a greater fable about the dangers of playing God. Somewhere down the line Depp fails to convey any real sense of the passion and curiosity while opposite to him, beautiful Hall deliver her entire performance in an unwavering state of glassy-eyed anxiety.

Emotional connection between the characters is amiss, but action, violence, drama, adventure and strong language made the Transcendence really transcendent. According to the Transcendence review, the theme and plot is excellent, but some sequels seems to be making less sense, as Will’s creating particles to float up from the ground and impact the atmosphere.

All in all, movie is good, worth-watching and embedded idea of artificial intelligence made it adventurous as well.
