Velai Illa Pattathari, an action comedy is superstar Dhanush's 25th movie. The movie is directed by debutante Velraj, who is known as one of the most accomplished cinematographers, he even won the Filmfare award for his cinematography in Dhanush's 2011 hit “Aadukalam ”. Dhanush has also turned producer for the venture, while director Velraj has written script of the movie.

Amala Paul is cast in the role of leading lady opposite Dhanush in the movie. Vivek, Samuthirakani and Saranya Ponvannan will be seen in supporting roles. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander , the composer of the superhit song “Kolavari”, sung by Dhanush. Now, let us take a look at the story and the movie review.

Velai Illa Pattathari movie deals with issues the youth is facing these days. The movie takes a satirical take at the rising unemployment which has frustrated youth and is driving them towards despair. The movie portrays how individuals are struggling to find job which they love to do, the effects of unemployment on the life and other aspects of day to day life.

Velraj has done a great job in his debut. Velai Illa Pattathari is made with intelligence and skill, with proper amount of comedy used without overkilling it. The social issues such as unemployment are used sensitively and economically. The flow and the rhythm of the movie is also very good.

Undoubtedly, Dhanush is the star of the movie and he once again delivers a splendid performance. His expressions, emotions and dialogues aptly portray angst, frustration and disappointment of his character. The rest of the star cast has also done a great job in supporting him. The music by Anirudh is also very good.

Sandhira movie review rating– 3.5/5
