Yudh TV review: Amitabh Bachchan makes a smashing acting debut on the small screen

Amitabh Bachchan's debut series “Yudh” is one of the most awaited and anticipated show amongst the Indian television audience. The show features a star studded star cast including accomplished actors such as Kay Kay Menon, Sarika, Tigmanshu Dhulia among others. Now, as the show has aired its first episode, let us review the first impression it has made on Indian audience.

Plot
Yudh review revolves around the life of Yudhishtir Sikarwar (Amitabh Bachchan), a successful construction magnate who is known for his principles and integrity, a man to be admired. However, there are some who aren't much impressed with him and would love to bring him down. Amongst them is a corrupt politician played by Tigmanshu Dhulia and a crooked police commissioner played by Kay Kay Menon.

He also has a mess to resolve in his personal life. He is suffering from a psychological disease in which he sees nowmal people dressed as clowns, and mind you there is no cure for the disease. He also has a two wives, one is Guari (Sarika) with whom he has a daughter Taruni (Aahana Kumra). The second wife is Nayantara (Ayesha Raza) with whom he has a son Rishi (Pavail Gulati).

Positive Points
Amitabh Bachchan. The elderly statesman of the Bollywood has given a glimpse of his terrific acting skills which has helped him to rule hearts for nearly four decades. He shows all the right emotions in the role of a larger than life businessman. The rest of the cast members also look promising in the show.

The plot of the show also looks impressive and impressive ensemble of directors including Anurag Kashyap and Shootjit Sircar have enough expertise to churn out an intense, thrilling show. The show has a well rounded and great characters.

Negative Points
As it is bit too early to find flaws in the series, I would like to point out some negative points from the first episode. It was expected to see a bit more of the plot in the episode, but too little was revealed and what was shown also left veiwers bit confused. Though, this might work in favour of the show.

Verdict
As I said earlier, it is bit too early to give a complete verdict on the show, but it has to be said that the show looks impressive and worth watching. It seems the Indian audience would get an opportunity to see a good cinematic masterpiece which won't be relying on killing character and throwing the show 10 years ahead to keep everyone interested, or vamps plotting to grab innocent, virtuous woman's husband.

Sandhira review rating –3/5
