Filmistaan Movie Review

Filmistaan Movie Review

A great visual delight and entertainer, Filmistaan has been screened at several prestigious film festivals and received a great appreciation for the storyline. The directorial debut of Nitin Kakkar is a National award winning film that gives a clever comical twist to Indo-Pak border politics. 117 minutes long movie's script is penned by the director himself and cinematography is handled by Subhrasnsu Das. The absorbing plotline that spreads out splendidly features Sharib Hashmi and Innamulhaq in lead roles, while Kumud Mishra, Gopal Datt, Saroj Sharma, Sanjay Mehta, Ravi Bhushan and Waseem Khan portrayed other pivotal roles. Let's take a look at the movie story and review.

Plot
The story of Filmistaan moves around the life of wanna-be-actor Sunny, who works as an assistant director and fantasizes on becoming a star. He gave numerous auditions, but thrown out. Later, he goes with an American crew to remote areas in Rajasthan to work on a documentary, but kidnapped by an Islamic terrorist group. There he was captivated in a house that belongs to a Pakistani, who does the business of pirated Hindi films. This common interest of duo forms a bond between both of them. Later, what happened with Sunny is the crux of the story who also confronted a many times with the leader of terrorist group in a comic way.

Positive points
The film has put together humour, emotion and drama at its perfection. Splendid narration does not find a single dull moment in the entire flick. The dialogues are well worded and effective as well. Movie flows well and everything goes in balanced way that clearly appear from the amazing accolades and overwhelming positive response that Filmistaan received. The background score of the massively entertaining flick is effective and mesmerising. The cast has done full justice with the allotted roles and would not allowed the audience to leave the edges of their seats even once. Unique script with brilliant theme drops a wonderful message and questioned in a very trick way, why border is drawn between the people who share common culture and interest.

Negative points
Well, everything was done with perfection, but after the second-half, it appears as if some episodes are unnecessarily stretched for couple of minutes.

Verdict
Head to the cinemas and watch out Filmistaan Movie that promises you to entertain upto the core. Worth watchable movie should not be missed at all. Complete Paisa Vasool flick.
