Period drama movie, Gajakesari, is the fifth venture of Yash with Jayanna and Bhogendra as producers. Action-romance genre movie is ace cinematographer Krishna's first directorial debut as director with Satya Hedge working as a cinematographer.

The story of the movie revolves around the life of new generation guy Yash who lives in a tribal village and belongs to a religious family. He has a special bond with an elephant (Gaja) named Arjuna.

Amoolya comes from a city in this village for research, but later some events happen before both of them that draw Amoolya and Yash more closer. Movie showcases the fight of mean and corrupted religious leader who is in powerful position with the new generation open-minded Yash and Amoolya.

Handsome looks, superior fighting and dancing skills of Yash, and glamorous avtar of Amoolya is the watch of the movie. Yash's long hair and frienship with the elephant are the highlights of the Gajakeasri.

Whole cast has done full justice with the given roles and mesmerised the audience by their fabulous performance. Though, movie hit limited number of screens, but rocks on the floor of box-office. Harikrishna has composed the music that flows well. First direction of Krishna ended on positive note as every scene is very well narrated.

The script was well written and movie get positive response. Even, before the release of Gajakesari movie, the dubbing rights of the film in Hindi have been sold. The sizzling chemistry and acting debut of Yash and Amoolya is worth watching.
