Kya Dilli Kya Lahore movie review

Kya Dilli Kya Lahore movie reviewKya Dilli Kya Lahore which is a drama movie set in post-Independence period deals with the subject of Indo-Pak partition. The movie is directed by accomplished actor Vijay Raaz who is making his directorial debut and is produced by Karan Arora.
The movie features Vijay Raaz, Manu Rishi, Raj Zutshi and Vishwajeet Pradhan in the lead roles. The story of the movie is written by Aseem Arora and the music of the movie is composed by Sandesh Shandilya . The movie is presented by famed lyricist Gulzar. Let’s analyze in our movie review, how well Vijay Raaz has fared in his directorial debut.
Kya Dilli Kya Lahore is set in 1948 and revolves around a border cross fire incident. One Indian soldier of Pakistani origin and a Pakistani soldier of Indian origin are left face to face as they fight for survival and fake pride. The movie takes an ironic take at the nationalistic pride.
The movie focusses on the sentiments which festered in heart and mind of common population of the two neighbouring countries. Amongst the survival in exchange of bullets, the movie portrays the unusual and unforeseeable connection an individual builds with other.
Vijay Raaz has done a decent job as a director, however it is his acting performance which shines through in the movie. The idea and concept of the movie is good, but it’s projection onto the screen is bit lacking. Some situations and arguments put forward in the movie are bit illogical.
Besides Vijay Raaz, other actors have also done a good job. The use of humour in the movie keeps audiences fresh and interested. Though, the song ‘Kisse Lambe’ is beautiful, the very presence of songs only manage to spoil the rhythm of the movie.
All in all, Kya Dilli Kya Lahore has its heart at the right place, and inspite of some apparent flaws is decent a movie.
