Kochadaiiyaan much awaited animated period drama has been delayed
once again. The movie which was finally set to be released on May 9,
is now postponed to May 23.
According to the sources close to the movie, the delay has been attributed to the post-production work. The movie producers have said that the delay in the release is due to their desire to release 2D and 3D version of the movie together.
The producers confirming the delay, have released the statement saying, "Dear patrons we are sorry to inform you that Kochadaiiyan, scheduled for May 9, has been postponed. Those of you who have purchased tickets online will get refund through respective banks. ”
Some industry insiders are alleging that the movie's delay due to new legal problems. It is rumoured that Oriental Bank of Commerce moved a court in Chennai seeking repayment of loan running to more than Rs 40 crore.
The movie has already been delayed on numerous occasions. Over the last two months, the release date of the movie has been shifted from April 11 to May 1 and finally to May 9. The movie has Rajnikanth in multiple roles and has been directed by his daughter Soundarya R Ashwin.
