“The objective behind introducing a new character is to reduce reliance on cross gender characters and to improve the quality of the comedy. The show producers are hoping that Grover's kid-avatar Sabjee would become as popular as Grover's female avatars," said a source.
“Mad in India” is trying to introduce new elements so as to improve its popularity, the show till now has failed to make any major impact. The producers have roped in popular cricketer Harbhajan Singh who will be seen teaching cricketer to Sunil Grover's new character.
"Initially, the producers wanted Grover to come on the show as Chutki to interview Harbhajan Singh. However, Grover was apprehensive about making the cross-dressing the show's talking point and wanted to introduce something new to the child. Therefore, the child character was finalized," added the source.
