Bewakoofiyaan movie review

Bewakoofiyaan movie review

Bewakoofiyaan is a romantic comedy in which director Nupur Asthana uses the despised economic recession to add a twist in her movie. This is Nupur's second directorial outing after “Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge” which failed to do much in terms of box office collection. And, Nupur hasn't been able to do anything special this time as well. So, lets take a look at Bewakoofiyaan movie review to see where this story about struggles of Delhi based jobless youth falls short.

Story Outline:
Mohit Chadha's (Ayushmann Khurrana) life is nearly perfect, he has a great job as a junior executive at a MNC Telecom firm and has a beautiful girlfriend Mayera Sehgal (Sonam Kapoor). But soon his problems start as he meets Mayera’s father V.K. Sehgal (Rishi Kapoor) who is strict and supicios and wants a rich man for his beloved daughter. Mohit's situation worsens when he looses his job due to recession. So, now Mohit who is jobless builds a web of lies to impress Sehgal, how far he goes to impress him and whether he is able to is story of the movie Bewakoofiyaan.

Actor Performance:
Ayushmann fails to hit the heights he had achieved in his precious flicks, it looks repetitive. Though he manages to entertain in some sequences, but this isn't the kind of performance you would expect from the a talented actor. Sonam is also disappointing in the movie, after her performance in “Raanjhana” a lot is expected from the Kapoor girl. Though, Bewakoofiyaan is entirely different movie from “Raanjhana”, still Sonam could do way better.

Only evergreen Rishi Kapoor manages to give a strong performance in the movie where almost everyone has underperformed. He looks amusing and is comical as he lurks to find a flaw in his daughter's choice.

Positive Points:
The chemistry between Ayushmann and Rishi Kapoor is entertaining to watch in some sequences. The love between Sonam and Ayushmann is also nicely portrayed and they look adorable together.

Negative Points:
The story of Bewakoofiyaan is dull, flat and predictive. Moreover, in some sequences the story lacks credibility and practicality. The music by Raghu Dixit is also not what you expect from the prodigious musician who created a sensation with his single “Hey Bhagwan”.

Verdict:
Bewakoofiyaan fails to fulfill its pre-release hype and manages to entertain in rare moments. Though, Sonam Kapoor fans can waste their money on this one to see her in sizzling and hot pink bikini.

Sandhira.com movie review rating – 2/5
