Yellow Marathi movie review

Yellow Marathi movie review

Yellow is a Marathi drama movie directed by debutante Mahesh Limaye who has earlier worked as a cinematographer in blockbuster Bollywood movies such as Dabaang and Fashion. Yellow is Riteish Deshmukh's second production venture and Uttung Thakur is the co-producer.

The movie has Gauri Gadgil, Mrinal Kulkarni, Upendra Limaye, Hrishikesh Joshi and Manoj Joshi in lead roles. The music of the movie is composed by Kaushal Inamdar. Now, let's take a look at the story and movie review of this beautiful venture.

Yellow movie revolves around the story of a girl named Gauri who is suffering from Down syndrome. As her parents whose role is played by Mrinal Kulkarni and Manoj Joshi, struggles to move on with life by accepting the genetic disease of their daughter, the movie seeks to answer a question which rises in mind of parents of such 'special' children - “What happens to my child after me?” The movie shows how Gauri finds her calling in swimming and how she manages to overcome the odds in her bid to become a swimming champion.

Debutante Mahesh Limaye has done a brilliant job in this movie. He beautifully captures the emotions of those who are dealing with Gauri, he perfectly documents the struggles of her parents. In acting department, Mrinal and Manoj has done a tremendous job is portraying the angst, optimism, disappointment and weariness as the parents of down syndrome affected child. Gauri also seamlessly slips into the role of the main character. A splendid performance by the young actor.

The music by Inamdar perfectly complements the theme and flow of the movie. In the nutshell, Yellow is a beautiful movie which I would say is a must watch for its noble and innocent content.
