Rowdy Telugu movie review

Rowdy has created a much anticipation thanks to the presence of some heavyweight performers of the Indian cinema. The movie directed by Ram Gopal Varma who is known for his brilliance in making crime and gangster oriented movies. The movies acting cast has legendary Mohan Babu in a larger than life role while his elder son manchu Vishnu also has an important role. Jayasudha, Shanvi Srivastav, Kishore and Tanikella Bharani are cast in supporting roles.

Sai Kartik has composed the music for this film while Satish Mutyala has handled the cinematography. The screenplay and the story of the movie which is heavily influenced by RGV's Sarkar and Hollywood cult movie Godfather is developed by RGV himself.

Rowdy movie is a political drama set amidst Rayalaseema backdrop. Anna (Mohan Babu) is a powerful and larger than life chieftain who sets his own rules to deliver justice and to help locals. He is fiercely opposed to the Nandavaram project which he believes is opposed to the welfare of common people. But there are couple of people who have vested interest in the project and they plot to take down Anna.

RGV has done a tremendous job in directing this movie. The movie has great intensity and all the elements of a cult hit. The action sequences are intense and aggressive especially the much vaunted 11 minute sequence featuring Mohan Babu and Vishnu. The movie also has the right dash of emotions and romance to it.

Mohan Babu has delivered one of his finest acting performance in this movie. His intensity and conviction helps him efficiently portray the role of larger than life Anna. Vishnu has also performed admirably well in th movie.

In the nutshell, Rowdy bears all the hallmarks of a good RGV movie. The movie narration is good and the background music perfectly compliments the flow and the situations in the movie. The only let down is cinematography in some sequences.

Sandhira movie review rating– 3.5/5
