Koottam Tamil movie review

Koottam Tamil movie review:
Kootam is the Tamil version of the bilingual action thriller film by debutant director M Jeevan who has worked on number of projects as an assistant director with Ram Gopal Varma. Jeevan has also written the story and the screenplay of the movie. The movie has Naveen Chandra, Piaa Bajpai and Kishore in the pivotal roles. The Telugu version of the movie titled as Dalam was released on the first week of 15 August 2013. Now, let's take a look at the story and the movie review.

Koottam documents the struggles of the group of former naxals who struggle to start their lives once again. They are regularly harrassed by the police. They also struggle against the local politicians who use them for improving their political credentials. The movie portrays the obstacles that a man faces in his bid to live a decent life. It shows how the society scavenges on an individual who has a dark past and secrets. In the movie, the ex naxalites are used by the police and politicians and as their objectives are fulfilled they plan to kill them. So, how they escape from the certain death and uncover the truth behind the operation they were assigned is story of the movie.

The director has done a laudable job in weaving an interesting and intriguing plot. The dialogues of the movie are also well written. The lead actors have delivered a natural and solid performance in the movie. The movie is very strong before the interval, but falls off the pace in the second half. The climax of the movie is also bit predictable. In the nutshell, Koottam is a one time watch movie with incredible background score.

Sandhira movie review rating– 3/5
