Akshay Kumar refused to contest elections for Congress from Chandni Chowk?

This year's Lok Sabha elections have attracted a fair number of Bollywood personalties. Along with seasoned campaigners such as Raj Babar, Shtrughan Sinha and Vinod Khanna, there are some such as Gul Panag and Kirron Kher who are starting their political journey.

Most of the Bollywood celebrities have chosen either BJP or AAP to fulfill their political ambitions. And Congress has been left behind even in terms of fielding star campaigners. However, in a bid to pull out a trump card Congress had offered ticket to Akshay Kumar to contest elections form Chandni Chowk constituency.

However, Akshay Kumar who isn't much interested in politics wants to focus on his Bollywood career. In an interview, with a leading daily without revealing the name of the political party Akshay Kumar accepted that he was offered a ticket but he refused as he didn't wanted to take a political stand and swore allegiance to any party.

Now, if Akshay had accepted an offer to contest elections he would have replaced Kapil Sibal as the congress candidate and would have rivalled AAP candidate Asutosh and BJP candidate Harsh Vardhan.
